Inner strength is my x-factor - Rajesh Hamal

This is an interview published in 'Hope' magazine:

Despite the fact that you have shown a keen interest in mar­riage, you have not materialized it yet. When is the exact date of your nuptial tie?

As I did not marry for a long time, I need a due time for the preparation. I cannot give you the exact date, but I do not say one year or two year like earlier. It has come down from year to month.

You chose acting as your career despite the objection of your father . What inspired you to be involved in this field?

I was attracted to the medium of cinema when I was in my school and college days. The medium of film such as acting, directing allured me to be involved in the field of perfor­mance.

Rajesh Hamal doesn't like short hair

Although he likes long hair, Rajesh Hamal had to cut his hair for his upcoming movie 'Hasia'. In the inaguration of the movie, Rajesh wasn't feeling that easy because of short hair.

In the past he had cut his hair during the death of his mother (for religious reason) but, he didn't cut hair during his father's death. Although he had made his hair short in a few movies, he still prefers long hair. Rajesh had short hair in 'Angarakshyak' and 'Je Bho Ramrai Bho', the movies shot during the time he cut hair because of his mother's death. In 'The Yug Dekhi Yug Samma' and 'Hasai' Rajesh had agreed to cut the hair according to the demand of the story. In all of his other movies, Rajesh has long hair.

Rajesh Hamal's sisters coming from USA for his marriage

Two of Rajesh Hamal's sisters are coming to Nepal for their brother's marriage. Rajesh's elder sister Dr. Rekha DC and younger sister Dr. Rupa Hamal live in the USA. Hamal's eldest sister Dr. Rita Singh lives in Kathmandu. Rajesh's all three sisters are medical doctors.

Rajesh is planning to get married after 7 months (in Magh) with his girlfriend Madhu Bhattarai. He has three options on where to perform the marriage ceremony - Muktinath, his ancestral home home in Nawalparasi or in Rara lake. Rajesh is more inclined towards Muktinath.

Madhu prepared Birthday Cake for Rajesh Hamal

It is no secret that Rajesh Hamal is living with his girlfriend Madhu Bhattarai and he celebrated his birthday on June 9, 2013. On his birthday, Madhu prepared a chocolate flavored cake in their residence.

For a formal program Rajesh had ordered a cake from a restaurant and for eating the home made cake was used. In the birthday party Hamal's elder sister Dr. Reeta, brothers, cousins, friends and associates were present. Five candles were lighted on the cake. Madhu served soft drinks to the guests.

Rajesh used to celebrate his birthday in a house of disabled people in Jorpati. He had made a disabled girl, Maina, his sister. After Maina died last year, Hamal has started celebrating his birthday at home.

Rajesh is featured in a looks of 80s in flashback scenes of his upcoming movie 'Kina Kina'. The movie also features actress Karishma Manandhar opposite to Rajesh Hamal.

Rajesh Hamal's New Year in UK

Like last year, Rajesh Hamal went to UK to celebrate the Nepali New Year 2070. Last year, he had comedy artists like Dipak Raj Giri, Deepa Shree Niraula etc. with him, this year he is alone when he arrived in UK on April 11.  

Rajesh participated in a program organized by Gorkha Nepalese Community of Oxford, Kent and it was the only program he was scheduled to participate. The program was held on new year eve, April 13.

Rajesh Hamal is returning back to Nepal on May 3. Currently, he is travelling in Scotland. (Photo credit - Dhruba Dutta)
